Introduction to Forensic Archaeology and Forensic Anthropology

This module provides an introduction to related disciplines of Forensic Archaeology (field-based search, excavation and recovery) and forensic anthropology (laboratory-based documentation and evaluation of human skeletal elements). It will introduce the interdisciplinary study of forensic archaeology and its application to the search and recovery of human remains from a range of different depositional environments. It will also introduce the study of forensic anthropology and its applications. It will provide students with an introduction to the knowledge & practical skills used in the identification of victims of crime, mass disasters, and other types of casualties.
