End of life care 

This includes work around civic participation in end of life care, health promotion in ageing, dying, care giving and loss.

We welcome your ideas for research proposals that fit within this cluster. We also have the following projects available:

Available PhD projects

Public health policies, service sector development, and practice models of care in end of life care (especially palliative care, aged care, cancer care, bereavement care, and intensive care)

Examining how health promotion, community development, health education or social ecology models of practice can address issues of ageing, dying, and grief and loss.

International health and civic policies and practices for end-of-life care

Comparing and contrasting how health services work alongside and with civic organisations such as schools, workplaces, faith groups or employer groups to support end of life care initiatives.

History, sociology, and social psychology of conduct and experiences at the end of life

Exploring and examining the key experiences and characteristics of the process of human dying.

Mystical/religious/altered states associated with dying and bereavement

Exploring and examining the near-death experience, deathbed visions, and visions of the bereaved.
