Teaching and Supervisory Responsibilities

Supervision of third year undergraduates in Primary Care and Paediatric Clinics and involvement in the second year Visual and Ocular Assessment module.

Module leader: 3rd year Professional, Legal and Ethical Studies module

Co-module leader: Clinical Decision Making and Advanced Clinical Practice modules undertaken by Career Progression students

Administrative Responsibilities

Catherine is the Pre-registration Period Tutor, offering assistance to those seeking Pre-registration posts.

She is also trained as a Personal Harassment Contact Person.

Study History

Catherine graduated from UMIST in 1989 and became a member of the College of Optometrists in 1990.

In 2007 she completed her Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education Practice with Distinction and in 2008 was awarded an MSc in Optometry.

Professional History

Upon qualification she entered work in clinical practice. During her time in clinical practice, she held a number of management roles and supervised several Pre-registration students.

Catherine started to combine her practice work with part time teaching in the Paediatric Clinic at UMIST in 1995. Her teaching role at UMIST was expanded during her time there as Tutor Practitioner, for Boots Opticians, between 1999 and 2003.

She joined the University of Bradford in 2003.
