Employing Modern Capabilities for Research and Knowledge Transfer Activities

Within the CSS, we have a depth and breadth of fundamental skin science expertise covering a wide range of practical applications and projects. Our academic staff work on cutting edge internationally recognised research. We have strong links within the University and externally and our research predominantly uses human skin and derived cells and organs. Through collaborative projects we have developed capabilities relevant to many healthcare industries, including those interested in human models for animal replacement, epigenetics in skin & hair regeneration, hair growth, pigmentation, wound healing and inflammatory skin diseases (see the list on the left of this page).
