Leeds-Bradford team awarded grant from LUPUS UK

Dr Miriam Wittmann, Dr Natasha Botchkareva, Dr Martin Stacey and Dr Ed Vital receive grant from the charity LUPUS UK

Lupus inflammation affecting the skin can result in either a scarring or non-scarring outcome. Once the tissue has scarred, there is no treatment to reverse this process. This project will focus on scarring subtypes of the disease and will explore the role of the hair follicle in initiating the scarring response. This grant award from the only charity supporting the diseases is for £34,010 and will run from 1st June 2016 for 12 months.
