Study Peace Studies and International Development at Bradford

We have introduced two brand new and innovative undergraduate courses that will start in September 2019, as well as eight postgraduate programmes that started in September 2018 (see course listings below).

Our new courses:

  • Reflect the most recent research and policy debates in the inter-connected fields of Peace Studies, Development Studies, Politics and International Relations.
  • Adopt engaging and effective approaches to teaching and learning, combining lectures and seminars with team-based learning, immersion days (whole-day practical workshops on a particular theme), study trips, a simulated crisis exercise held over two days away from the university, and practitioner sessions with alumni.
  • Build lots of skills and competencies relevant to your future careers in peace, development, politics, security and international relations.
  • Are taught by academics who are experts in their field and have hands-on experience of advising governments, international organisations and NGOs. We have been providing training to organisations as diverse as the UK Ministry of Defence, the African Development Bank, the Aga Khan Development Network in Central Asia, the Swedish International Development Agency, neuroscience experts at the Karolinksa Institute, women representatives in Pakistan’s parliament, and the Brazilian police.

We also host a prestigious Rotary Peace Centre, one of just six around the world supported by Rotary International. The Rotary and Chevening scholarships are highly sought after. Students come from around the world to Bradford.

There is a range of other scholarships and bursaries available to support you during your study with us.
