About us

The People & Organisational Development team organise a core programme of staff learning and development events for personal and professional development (PPD), designed to support staff in the achievement of the University’s strategic objectives. As well as events designed, delivered and maintained by People & Organisational Development, the programme includes a broader development offer provided through partnerships with a number of specialist areas across the University.

People & Organisational Development are also actively involved in the development and delivery of the organisational development agenda, which supports the University’s programme of transformation and culture change.

Below are some of our services:

  • Co-ordination, design and delivery of a comprehensive in-house development programme for all categories of staff within the University which incorporates blended learning approaches.
  • IT Training.
  • Facilitating the University’s Corporate Induction programme, including tools and resources to support local induction.
  • Tailoring existing courses for Faculties and Directorates.
  • Offering a full end to end service in the facilitation of bespoke events, including team days.
  • Providing a range of advice and support for University managers and staff on training and development matters.
  • Sourcing and brokering external consultants and specialist training provision.
  • Reporting on the impact of training courses and development activities.
  • Providing access to training and development information, resources and materials including an online library of 25 'Useful Guides' which may be viewed and downloaded via a link in the  Resources & Guidance section of our web site (NB UoB username and password may be required to access this page).
  • Supporting the development of a visible, high performing and corporately focused community of leaders within the University, through initiatives such as Bradford:Leader and Leadership Forums.
  • Facilitating approaches to staff consultation and engagement to support the development and implementation of strategy and review of, and continuous improvements to, processes such as Performance Development Review.
