Biography

Dushy joined the School of Management at University of Bradford inApril 2023. She holds a PhD in Accounting from Macquarie University, Sydney, Australia. Shejoined the University of Bradford from the University of Leicester, UK, whereshe worked as a lecturer in accounting. Prior to that she has worked asa lecturer and teaching associate at RMIT University, Monash University andSwinburne University, Australia.

Her research interests are in the area of socialand environmental accounting and accountability. Her doctoral research was onthe topic of accounting for water, specifically on the General-Purpose WaterAccounting, an innovative water accounting method developed in Australiainspired by the financial accounting reporting framework. She has published apaper in the Meditari Accountancy Research Journal, an A ranked journal inthe Australian Business Deans Council (ABDC) Journal Quality List.

Dushy holds professional accounting qualifications, as an AssociateMember of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, UK (ACMA and CGMA)and a full member of Certified Practising Accountants, Australia (CPA). Before joining the academia she has worked in the corporate sector; at ANZ Australia and the National Development Bank, Sri Lanka.
