Where can I get help with budgeting and money matters?

Our Money Adviser, based at The Hub, is here to offer help and advice regarding budgeting, benefits and student funding queries. Appointments can be made either in person at The Hub, based in the Richmond Building or by emailing money@bradford.ac.uk.

Am I eligible for any University of Bradford scholarships or discounts?

What funding is available for postgraduate students?

You may be eligible for the Postgraduate Bursary.

Alternatively, the Hardship Fund may be able to assist you but only if you can provide evidence of sufficient financial provision prior to the start of your postgraduate course. For more information, see the University of Bradford Hardship Fund web pages.

How do I obtain a refund?

How do I open a bank account?

In order to open a UK bank account you will need to obtain a letter of introduction from the University.

This can be provided by The Hub. Please also note that you will need to produce your passport to the bank when opening a bank account.

My student finance has been approved - What should I do?

The ‘Financial Notification’ document of your Student Finance England (SFE) funding must be brought to enrolment so the University can be sure that you have the correct financial support in place.

My student finance has not yet been approved - What should I do?

Please contact Student Finance England in the first instance to find out at what stage your funding application is at.  

If you are experiencing financial difficulties please call in at The Hub (based in the Richmond Building, City Campus) or contact financial support on 01274 23 6504.

How can I get a job?

If you would like a job working at the University of Bradford you will need to register with the University Career Development Service located in Student Central at the City Campus.

If you are an International student you will need to check the work restrictions on your student visa.

How do I obtain a National Insurance number?

If you're entitled to a National Insurance number but don't have one, you can apply.

You'll need one in certain circumstances, such as claiming state benefits, applying for a student loan or when working. You can start work without one but you'll need to apply straightaway.
