Jamila Abdalhmid

Jamila from Libya chats about her experiences as a student here at the University of Bradford.

Where are you from?

Libya.

What are you studying?

PhD in Civil Engineering.

How did you hear about the University of Bradford?

Internet.

Why did you choose to come to Bradford?

The University of Bradford is one of the recommended universities in my country Libya.

How did the University/International Office/ Language Centre help you settle in when you first arrived?

By meeting all the new students and explaining to us everything about the course.

Why is Bradford a good place to be an international student?

Because in Bradford there are international people and many cultures who respect each other.

How did studying on the Pre-sessional English course help you?

I took the pre-sessional course to improve my English language as it was a requirement for my study. However, during the pre-sessional course I discovered that it was important and very useful for international students.

It was very interesting to study with students from different countries and cultures. I strongly recommend all international students to attend this course to help them during their academic study. Finally, I would like to thank all the pre-sessional course staff who have been very kind and friendly.
