Help is at hand
Academic study support
Most students will need some support with their studies during their time at university.
Our academic support network is here to help you from the first day of your course through to graduation.
Academic Skills Advice Service
The Academic Skills Advice Service helps students with all areas of academic study and interpersonal skills.
They offer 1-2-1 sessions, group advice, workshops and they have a number of online study skills resources.
Our proactive Personal Academic Tutor scheme aims to ensure that throughout your time at university you have regular opportunities to meet with an assigned member of academic staff.
Your ‘Personal Academic Tutor’ or PAT, will discuss and help to improve your personal, academic and professional development.
Blackboard - Virtual Learning Environment
Blackboard is the University's Virtual Learning Environment (VLE).
The VLE allows students access to a range of independent study materials related to your course, and studying in general.
You can access the materials on Blackboard at your own pace, from any device with an internet connection.
Our language centre offers English language support as a university-wide policy, supporting international students, home students, staff and the wider community.
Support is available before and during your studies.
The University has two libraries:
