About Summer Experience

Summer experience award winners Sustrans What is Summer Experience?

  • A structured summer vacation project-based placement programme, offered to local and regional organisations, charities, and not-for-profit organisations
  • Students work full-time or part time equivalent on a project for a minimum of 6 weeks
  • Students are paid £290 per week based on a working week of 35 hours
  • Organisations may be eligible for funding  dependant on certain criteria
  • Host organisations and students are invited to celebrate their achievements at an Awards ceremony held in September
