Radical Acts: Day 4, 5, 6, 7, 8

I cut my hair without telling my parents
She led an army of 100,000
I left my husband
She named her attacker
We poured boiling water from our
windows on men invading the town
I ripped off my wig
I carried onions to school to protect me from tear gas
We held hands around a nuclear air base

Common Wealth will take over the historic Bradford Club with electronic music, cinematic lighting, powerful choreography and stories that explore what it means to be radical today.

Radical Acts is a celebration of disobedient action that women have taken to make change throughout history and the present day. A call to arms as much as anything, to say let’s not get comfortable there’s plenty more action and plenty more steps to take.

Commissioned by Theatre in the Mill and in partnership with Bradford Council. Funded by Arts Council England, Awards for
All and Paul Hamlyn Foundation.
