Confirming your place - Confirmation
Confirmation is when students move from having an offer from a University to a confirmed place.
This usually takes place following the release of summer examination results. If you have taken GCE A-level/AS examinations you will receive your results on Thursday 17 August 2017, or 8 August if you're in Scotland.
If you have taken other examinations such as the International Baccalaureate Diploma, BTEC or Access qualifications you may have already received your results.
All Confirmation decisions and Confirmation letters (AS12) are shown in UCAS Track, when your place is confirmed. Track won't show you your exam results, only whether an institution has been able to confirm your place to study. You should still pick up your exam results from school or college. Institutions may confirm your place even if you haven't quite met the conditions of your offer. However, where conditions haven't been met institutions may also offer you a different course of study and this will be shown in Track (Confirmation Change letter).
If you were asked to send copies of any qualifications as part of your offer, you will need to do so before your place can be confirmed - even if you have achieved the grades you needed.
If you do not meet the conditions of your Firm (F) offer but you meet the conditions of your Insurance offer (I) you will be placed there. Applicants who are unsuccessful and have paid the full application fee (£23) are eligible for Clearing.
