Still at school?
Here at the University of Bradford we’ve been very busy working with schools to try and encourage looked after children to take part in a wide range of aspiration raising activities aimed at pupils in Year 6 and above.
As a looked-after child a place is reserved for you on the following activities:
The Bradford Children's University
This programme supports children from 7-14 (or as young as 5-6 with the support of their family). Collect stamps in your Passport to Learning to work towards achieving Children's University Awards. As part of this programme, you will be invited to take part in a Graduation Ceremony once you have accumulated the required number of stamps in your passport.
A wide range of fun learning opportunities and activities are held at school, at lunch times, after school or during school holidays. This is a fantastic programme and a great way for you to be rewarded while learning.
There is GSCE homework support for pupils in Years 10 and 11.
Taster Sessions & Taster Days are available for Year 12 & Year 13 Students. If you would like to gain a real insight into our programmes and the ways that Higher Education Study can help you to reach your full potential, please book onto one of our events.
The Compact Summer School offers pupils in Year 13 the opportunity to find out about University life, take part in accredited science and study skills academic modules. As well as gaining up to 30 UCAS points towards their chosen University of Bradford undergraduate degree.
