The annual FoHS Christmas Appeal, on behalf of Centrepoint Bradford

We would really appreciate donations of gifts suitable for both male and females between 16-25. Examples include packs of toiletries, games, Christmas gift sets etc. (but no food or drink), or cash which we will use to buy gifts with before Christmas. Please leave your presents unwrapped as they will be wrapped by Centrepoint Support Workers, who can identify which present would be best for each of the young people they support.

The sooner donations are received the better, as we will be dropping off gifts to Centrepoint in stages to allow them to be distributed during Support Worker visits / appointments throughout December, to ensure they are given in plenty of time for Christmas.

Please drop off donations to the Marketing and Recruitment team (room 1.13 in the Faculty of Health Studies). Please contact us if you have any questions on types of gifts etc.

“Centrepoint is the UK’s leading charity working to tackle the issue of youth homelessness and in Bradford supports more than 320 homeless 16-25 year olds every single day - shockingly we receive between 8-10 new referrals a week.

Our aim is to end youth homelessness and to do that we realise that we need to provide the young people we support with more than just safe and secure accommodation. To that end we will work with every young person for up to 2 years ensuring that they have somewhere safe to live and become physically and mentally healthy, have access to education and training opportunities and learn the essential life skills needed to live independently.

We need your support this Christmas as many of our young people won’t be receiving gifts otherwise. They don’t have a support network of family or friends to buy for them and they can’t afford to buy presents for their own friends. While we try and make Christmas an uplifting time for residents, having something new to open on Christmas Day really does help put a smile on everyone’s faces."
