The University of Bradford is celebrating the arrival of students from across the world at a special Lord Mayors reception.

The students will get the opportunity to meet the Lord Mayor of Bradford, Cllr Mike Gibbons at the celebration event on Wednesday October 15 at City Hall.

This annual event provides an opportunity for the Lord Mayor to welcome new international students from the University of Bradford to the City.

The University has been welcoming international students to its campuses for more than 50 years and this year is no exception. With over 15% of students at the University being international, Bradford prides itself on being a diverse and inclusive university, welcoming students from all over the world.

Director of International Development, William Mitchell said: "At the University there is a diverse mix of people from different backgrounds, faiths, nationalities and ages all sharing the closely-knit city centre campus. International students continue to bring vibrancy and diversity not only to the University but the city too and significantly contribute to the economic wellbeing of many local businesses.

"This is a great opportunity for the students to be formally welcomed by the Lord Mayor and senior members from the University.”

The civic reception will give students from across the world a chance to meet the Lord Mayor, local Councillors' as well as staff and current students from the University.
